The Smile Epidemic

Our mission is to create "The Happiest Community on Earth", a digital place of effortless belonging where people can safely share what makes them happy and discover what makes others happy. Essentially we are a: Social Digital Gratitude Journal :) We ask people to be mindful of the simple things in life that bring us happiness and believe that taking note of what makes you smile for 30 days can change the way you look at the world. Please share something Step 1 - Take note of something that made you smile. Step 2 - Take a picture of yourself with the note in front of your smile. Step 3 – Share it with us and the world :) NOTE: Look for the submit button on the bottom right hand corner of your screen or email it to us at: Creative Commons License

A Bucket Full of Memories Captured on our Smiles

What a wonderful way to remember a loved one before we send them off into the great beyond…

A friend of mine asked if she could use The Smile Epidemic as a way to memorialize a loved one who recently lost their battle. The answer was most definitely yes.

I am so proud and honored that people keep finding new ways to apply the concept of the smile epidemic. We can use it for its simple and obvious purpose which is to capture little moments in our daily lives and share them. We can use it to show a visual representation of our support for someone who is in the midst of a battle. We can use it to capture our last messages to someone that we have lost (at least for now). We can capture messages for Birthdays, weddings, retirement parties, anniversaries; any expression of positive emotion that we want to capture and or share can be immortalized with a quick note and a smile.

The bottom line is that we should take notice of what we are grateful for. We should capture what makes us happy and we should share it. All of these things aim at increasing happiness and gratitude in the world and are worth spreading.

MY awesome neighbour Dave made me smile this morning and here are some of the reasons why: Donated to my fundraising effort for Cervical Cancer, is an awesome husband, father and role model, makes the neighbourhood a happier place, always asks how he can help, I feel safer for my kids because he’s around, plans family trips to the beach, bastes a pig like a Mofo… Should I keep going?
