The Smile Epidemic

Our mission is to create "The Happiest Community on Earth", a digital place of effortless belonging where people can safely share what makes them happy and discover what makes others happy. Essentially we are a: Social Digital Gratitude Journal :) We ask people to be mindful of the simple things in life that bring us happiness and believe that taking note of what makes you smile for 30 days can change the way you look at the world. Please share something Step 1 - Take note of something that made you smile. Step 2 - Take a picture of yourself with the note in front of your smile. Step 3 – Share it with us and the world :) NOTE: Look for the submit button on the bottom right hand corner of your screen or email it to us at: mailto:Submit@TheSmileEpidemic.com Creative Commons License

Day 4 Dan Boivin: Livin’ My Love by NERVO, Steve Aoki, and LMFAO

My husband Darrick and I have decided to jump into the Smile Epidemic! This is our first (and completely chaotic) attempt.
Today I turned 33, celebrating with some of the people I care most dearly for in the whole world. It seemed like a good place to start.
As you can’t make out everybody’s smile, from left to right:
Summer and Outdoors!!
Chocolate Cake
Grandkids
A Walk With Toby
Birthdays With Loved Ones

As my understanding of what you’re doing grows I am absolutely blown away by the magnitude, and potential of it. Watching friends participate has made me think many times throughout the day of exactly what I’m grateful for- what makes me smile. I think I appreciate some of these things just a little bit more for the attention The Smile Epidemic brings to them.

My little girl Olivia clearly makes her uncle Allen smile!

Smiles are contagious if you’re all together for the same purpose - having fun! #30daysofhappiness (Taken with Instagram)

Great big smiley thank you to Nicole Lampa from CTV News Kitchener for taking an interest. We are honored and grateful.

Jim 23: I needed this one myself today… Cheap Laughs!

We keep stuff like this around all the time to stimulate the kids imaginations (really its just for us)  :)

Industry Corp Delivers with 3 more days of Smiles. Check out their blog posts as well that tell a little bit more about the experience they are having. We look forward to reading these everyday!

A really wonderful post from a new follower….

A wonderful Blog Post from our Friend at  One For The Wall Photography

A wee note tonight…
A special friend of mine from university that I have recently re-connected with is doing wonderful things in this world. She and her husband are founders of The Smile Epidemic. The initiative was launched earlier this year and is spreading quickly across the globe (it has been recognized by the Oprah Network!). Their messaging to find the positive in life and to share that with a smile is infectious. Since joining their page and following them on twitter

I have to admit that I have found myself thinking throughout the day of all the people, experiences and things that make me smile. A friend of mine brought me flowers a couple of days ago. A complete surprise…that made me smile.
I have introduced our girls to the page as well and we are working on our our smile messages (we will share those soon!).
As I was preparing blogposts tonight I saw this sweet photo and thought it would be perfect for this note. In some ways I am in the business of smiles. It’s not something I had thought about until recently but I am thankful that I am more aware of just how many things make me smile in a day or that I might just have put a smile on someone else’s face.
Thank you Jim and Jennifer for contributing so positively to this world.
Much love and many SMILES!
Hilary

Smile, Smile, Smile, get our point?

Jim Day 20: Tonight its about bigger more important but simple things… Having Food to eat

Krista Day 21: The Kindness of strangers - So wonderful

I had a real good cry this morning when I woke up and found this post. Thank you so much for “getting it”… From IndustryCorpBlog.com;

Everyday I take smile photos for each team member, and I am constantly reminded that laughter IS the best medicine. I can’t help but smile and laugh as I read each person’s daily dose of happiness and inspiration. It’s incredible how simple or complex each word can be, it reminds me that we all have so many things in our lives to remind ourselves that this life we live is unique and vibrant.

Sometimes it’s the big things, sometimes it’s the little things, sometimes it’s nothing at all, and for all the other times in between it just is. There is no rhyme, no reason to what brings that smile to our face, but it’s remembering that there is always something to “turn that frown upside down.” – Hayden day 7….
